Scunthorpe legend Alex Calvo-Garcia has become the second former player to put his name to the Iron Trust.

"I think the interim board are genuine and serious people that want to improve the relationship between the club and supporters, and I am very keen to help them," he said.

"When the supporters trust contacted me a few months ago asking me to be part of this project, I was very clear I wanted to be involved in anything that was going to improve the relationship between the club, supporters and the community."

Later in the day, around 60 fans saw the first screening in English of a documentary on Calvo-Garcia, as part of an evening staged by the Trust.

The Spaniard also answered questions from supporters and posed for pictures.

More than £500 was raised from an auction of memorabilia, while the event helped push membership of the supporters' group to 130.

"We would like to thank Alex for flying out for the evening, and for helping to make it such a success," Luke Thornhill, a member of the interim board, said.
