SCUNTHORPE United have allegedly had a bid turned down for Bristol Rovers striker Will Hoskins, according to media reports.

The forward has been in sparkling form for the Pirates, netting 11 times this season.

Whether the Iron will go back in for the 24-year-old, whose previous clubs include Rotherham, Watford and loan spells at Millwall and Nottingham Forest, is up in the air.

“The Championship - at least 7th best supported league in the Europe, fact. If you add in the play-offs and the wembly final its close to the 4th/5th.
That means higher average attendance per game than every other league except the Premiership, the Bundersliga and is it La liga in Spain Italy and France. On a par with world cup runners up Holland. So it's got higher attendances than every other country, I suspect it may exceed Brazil and Argentina etc etc.
So the teams in it arguably should be vying with some of Europes top teams to attract players. And then there's Scunthorpe United.
If anyone does not rate being in the Championship for three years out of four, with average attendances of one man and his dog ( by the way the dog makes far more noise!) they want their heads examining! check to see if there's not a codhead hiding inside.
Footballs all about money these days. If you can't give these players as much as they can get paid say in the top division in virtually every other country in the world why should they come and play for Scunny?
Thats what we are supposed to be competing with. So we get loans and youngsters who want to better themselves. And they want to move on and we have to live with it.
If we ever grow the support up to 14000 a game (it's possible if everyone who made the day trip to Wembly came ) we might be able to compete. May be able to retain and attract better players. But don't bite the hand that feeds you Championship football just be grateful as long as it lasts.”

“Only a one way transfer market as usual with SUFC this January especially with Admiral Austerity at the helm. There will be a few oohs and arrghs, nearly's and pipping at the posts but the next four weeks of smoke and mirrors will as usual come to nothing.

Excuse book having the dust blown off it whilst we announce the loan signing of defenders that can't defend and another striker who can't score goals.

DRE dwellers - get yerself some rawplugs - it's bolt yer own in during the summer.”
