“Xcahoot, thanks for your welcoming. I say we have more than two capable strikers. Capability is, however, linked to their being a will to play to their best. Jennings, for example, went out on loan to the Conference and started to find the back of the net again, Godden scored for Ebsfleet at the weekend. Grella is just picking up a wage but was prolific in the USA, Alabi is here but unproven in mainstream outings, Hawley by all accounts is a confidence player, in the mould of Forte but with more experience. His outing last Saturday was as if he didn't want to score.
Sodje turns his tap on and off. Five or six years ago neither of our top front two would have made it past the bench. We had a different remit then, we had fire in our bellies, riding high on success this spilling out onto the pitch and the terraces. The reversal has been the exact opposite with desperation and negativity doing the spilling. Fully understanding what is going on at GP does not help me. Perhaps I should buy some rose tinted glasses and go into denial.
This managed relegation is hurting and that hurt will be about for many seasons to come. It will get worse next season which ever League we are in. Laws' budget for next season is seeing a dramatic reduction even if we survive. It's not the players fault, it's not the managers fault. Incompetence and poor judgement has caused this and as a departing chairman I would want to leave with a head I could hold high and pats on the back. What we have is a debt saddled club that made a loss of a mere 500k in the five seasons prior to relegation from the Championship.
With a little more ambition, ability and application even that 500k could have been eradicated. We will lose on Saturday, we will pick up 4 maybe 5 points in our remaining games, we cannot rely on those around us. We should have been asking freebie signing Clarke what he wanted for the rest of the season, paid it and let him take the pick of offers that would have risen come May.”

“Hello PDoff Its good to see your return in a more recognisable form .
I mean that quite genuinely Stoffie.
You have one fan here even if no one else recognises your value.
What the ECK does it take to get the in fighting to quell even temporarily .
Carl Lewis I share your fears ,,, this is what I have feared since last August .
If positive support can = even 1 % then thats is a 1% plus
Would everybody please shelve their own ego`s !!! wake up & smell the Frothie
David Beeby can you smell it ???
I am a season ticket holder I have already paid this is not a cheap shot .
Lets fill the GAFF on Saturday against our arch eminie [no deerey] the rival Rovers
Why don,t the office sell tickets to be taken up only after two fortyfive.
To 16 - 25 year olds for two quid a time. don,t let them clog up the turnstiles.
Sell them tickets of a different colour ASP & then open up the gates at after two fortyfive
We do have two capable strikers here ... Lets get behind them ..
From experience I worry when I see The Telegraph report that He should be OK for the weekend.
Usually it means He is out for months. I pray I am worrying unnecessarily .”

“Over the last twelve months we have had two capable goal scorers on loan, both looking for another club, both would have dramatically changed our fortunes. One went to League Two, one went to a bankrupt club. If we had been ambitious we should have taken either on. If we were hell bent on getting back to the League Two comfort zone then neither. Say no more.”

“Oldiron fan the problem as we all know is that when we are playing well and creating chances we are not taking them. With a capable goalscorer we would be safe by now and not hoping for a miracle."UP THE IRON"!!!”

“The fight is now really on. There could well be strange twists and turns to come in the relegation battle but basically we have to do better than Oldham, who on paper have an easier run-in, a game in hand and a much superior goal difference.
There will be 'chins on the floor' all round this morning but we are in the mire because we deserve to be.
Similarly, we will get out of the mire if we deserve to. Bury beat Doncaster just last month so Saturday's 'opener' to our survival campaign is not an impossible ask.
Had we been playing poor football, the writing really would have been on the wall but there is still hope.
Our position is not for the faint-hearted - players, management or fans. This is not the time for bickering but for genuine supporters to get down to GP and give it their best shot.
We have seen plenty of effort and commitment recently but it is time for a bit of quality to break through.
If players are not performing, they can't be allowed to stay on the pitch in the hope that something might happen. We don't have enough games left for that.
If we go down being adventurous and trying something different, it would be easier to bear than going out with a whimper.
Squeaky bum time everyone. Good luck.”
