Scunthorpe United sign Eddie Nolan and defender could face Crawley Town
SCUNTHORPE United completed the signing of their former defender Eddie Nolan on Friday evening - nine months after they made the Irishman a free agent.
The versatile 24-year-old, who can play in either full-back position, has signed non-contract terms with the Iron and is almost certain to be part of the United squad for today's match with Crawley Town.

Eddie Nolan has been handed the chance to impress for a second time at Scunthorpe United, after today signing for the club on a non-contract basis.
Nolan spent two seasons at Glanford Park, playing 74 games, before being released by previous manager Alan Knill at the end of his contract in May.
Having failed to get fixed up with a new club last summer, Nolan had been training with Doncaster Rovers before he was given the chance to try to earn a surprise return to United three weeks ago.

Initial talks with the Iron board proved fruitless for boss Brian Laws, who said the fact someone of Nolan's ability could not get fixed up reflected the 'sad state' football was in. But he did say that the situation would be reviewed once the transfer window had closed.
Nolan will now no doubt be keen to earn himself a longer stay back in North Lincolnshire.

“What's that xcahoot? Lost your false teeth again? Good point Jacksaw, a noticable shift in attitude he had. Still, he's got the ability and will be wanting to prove himself so we can't go wrong really.”
