Scunthorpe United sign Nottingham Forest striker
SCUNTHORPE United have this morning completed a loan move for Nottingham Forest striker Joe Garner.
The 22-year-old will stay at Glanford Park until the end of the campaign and goes straight into the Iron squad for tomorrow's trip to Middlesbrough.

Joe Garner will stay witht he Iron until the end of the season.
Garner has fallen down the pecking order at the City Ground this season and spent the first half of the campaign on loan to League One side Huddersfield Town, where he failed to score in 16 appearances.
His arrival comes almost four years after he was first revealed as a transfer target for Scunthorpe, who were unable to lure the versatile front man to Glanford Park when he joined Carlisle from Blackburn Rovers in the summer of 2007.
Forest paid £1.2million to sign the 5ft 10ins player 12 months later and he has scored nine times in 46 appearances, 13 as a sub, in the Championship.
The last goal he netted came at Glanford Park, when Forest were held to a 2-2 draw by the Iron on the final day of last season.
Garner becomes boss Ian Baraclough's eighth signing of the January transfer window, with Chelsea full-back Ben Gordon still due to arrive on loan.
That is likely to conclude his work ahead of tonight's 11pm deadline.

“Sorry to let you down oscar, but quite pleased that bara's managed to bring some new faces in. After all, it's what a number of supporters have been asking for for quite some time. Whether they will be an improvement, only time will tell, but I suggest everyone give them time and hopefully we'll now see daggers in his true position. Thoroughly gutted that woolford's gone though, and even forte's departure (for money, no less!) can't make up for it.”

“I suspect that his wages will probably be beyond what we will pay, worth an ask though.....”

Rumours from around the 2nd city and friends who are blue noses are saying that Phillips knows that he is only playing bit parts at St Andrews more and more and that he has been talking about moveing into coaching and doesnt want to stop playing for a bit longer, So why not come and play for the Iron ? we had Peter for a fww seasons and he would of been a good player/coach for us or even a manager and he had contacts as well but he went on to be a tv pundit on sky as you know”

“Stephen what is the obsession with Phillips, has he been linked with us somewhere?
Oscar, Ironman100, the fact remains that we still haven`t signed a prolific striker on a permanent deal. If pointing that out is nit picking then so be it!”

“Who thought that selling the top scorer and bringing in a fool who cant even score in league 1 would improve the already shocking strike force at GP?”

“Well...to all the doommongers out there we have a pro-active manager that has secured the services of a number of players and a Chairman that has sanctioned all. These are Baras signings so lets give the manager a chance and all the new boys too. BELIEVE ..we can stay in this division, lets get behind the players and club....the season begins again UTI”
