Scunthorpe United stars take Christmas presents to children in hospital
CHRISTMAS came early for children on the Disney Ward thanks to the generosity of players and staff at Scunthorpe United.
Five of the Iron's first-team squad and members of Scunthorpe United Trust played Santa and delivered presents to children at Scunthorpe General Hospital.
Skipper Paul Reid, along with Tom Newey, Callum Kennedy, Jimmy Ryan and on-loan goalkeeper Steve Mildenhall, visited the ward.
Jay Jammeh, 5, was one of the children to benefit from the Iron's generosity.

Bowmandale Primary School pupil, Jay, had only been on the ward for a few hours following an operation on his ear.
"I like football and support Manchester United," he said.
"I am hoping to get some Batman Lego for Christmas. Superman is my favourite, though."
Each year, the club makes a trip to the Disney Ward ahead of the festive period.
Iron defender, Tom Newey, said it was nice to be able to support the community. He said: "This is a chance for us to give back to the community.
"To know there are children in hospital over Christmas is not nice – especially having children myself."
