Scunthorpe Utd: Dagnall - We're doing okay, but the lack of victories is a 'hassle'
The league table may not lie, but it certainly doesn't tell the whole story.
Scunthorpe United striker Chris Dagnall is keen to set the record straight for those who are quick to judge the Iron's win-less start to the League One season.

FRUSTRATED: Chris Dagnall believes the current League One table paints something of a false picture where the Iron are concerned
The front man admits the empty 'W' column, and the interrogation which comes with it, has become a 'bit of a hassle'.
There are no concerns within the United camp that the corner which turns onto an upward curve is firmly on the horizon.
And Dagnall believes today's clash with Sheffield United will be a chance to prove just that.
"A lot of people just look at it in black and white," said the 25-year-old.
"They just see that we still haven't won.
"For someone who hasn't been to our games, they look at the league table, see we've not won, have lost two and drawn four, and conceded more than we've scored.
"People can just look at it like that, but if you've been to the games, I think you can take a lot of promise from our performances and see we don't deserve to be where we are in the league.
"We will eventually push on.
"The start only becomes a problem if halfway through the season we still haven't pushed on, still haven't won enough games and are still in the position we are now.
"Then, obviously, the start of the season was a massive problem.
"It's not really the time right now to be fretting about the start of the season, we're only six games in.
"In my head it's just when rather than if.
"We're still very disappointed we haven't won, and it's a bit of a pain to be honest, but we've got to put that behind us now.
"We know we've played well enough, and a lot of the games we have deserved to win but just haven't got it.
"It is a bit of a hassle, but if we keep playing the way we have been, eventually, surely, we will win a game sooner rather than later."
Still, no-one wants to be known as the division's draw specialists, even if it is more by accident than design.
"It's not a great thing to have," said Dagnall.
"But we've only had two losses this season, which were both unfortunate.
"If we turn the draws into wins, we will be in the top six no problem.
"Hopefully that is going to happen.
"If a team has lost five out of six, then you can turn the losses into draws and start stepping up a level.
"But we don't need to do that, we just need to turn draws into wins.
"If we turned half our games into wins that would send us right up the table."
Sounds easy, and Dagnall is convinced it will be if United can boost their conversion rate.
For a striker in Alan Knill's side, these have the potential to be productive times.
Bobby Grant is joint-top scorer, while the team as a whole have had by far the most shots in the league – 54 on target and 49 wayward ones.
Dagnall has found the net three times so far, but with Grant suspended, the former Rochdale man is hoping to steal some of his glory.
"We've had a lot of chances," Dagnall said.
"I've been unfortunate a few times not to score more goals myself.
"It's always nice that we've got Bobby, who has scored quite a few in the last few games.
"Unfortunately he misses a very good game against Sheffield United but he'll bounce straight back.
"Whoever the manager picks to play, I'm sure we'll still have enough quality to score the goals we need.
"It's always nice to have a place in the team, but you need a bit of luck and hopefully that bit of luck will shine on me.
"I think performance wise I'm doing okay.
"A couple more goals wouldn't go amiss but hopefully they'll come in the next few games and I'll be over the moon.
"As long as we keep performing this way, then we will score more goals than we concede and eventually we will win."
Having both fallen through the Championship trapdoor last term, the Iron and the Blades began this campaign with identical aims – to bounce straight back.
The latter may be further along the path to achieving that, sitting joint-top and currently unbeaten.
But, topple Danny Wilson's side and Dagnall believes Scunthorpe can expect a similarly successful season.
"I think it will be a good game," he said.
"I remember the ones from last season (a 4-0 win at Bramall Lane and a 3-2 home victory) and I see no reason why we can't get our first win of the season.
"It will be enjoyable to play in.
"Sheffield United are a massive team and it's definitely going to be a tough one.
"But maybe the better team will come here and we'll raise our game a little bit more.
"If it means us being terrible and sneaking a 1-0 win, I'll take that.
"It just gets us off the mark and then the wins will come.
"I'm not really bothered how we play on Saturday, as long as we win.
"We've drawn too many games, especially at home, we've got to be looking for three points, nothing less.
"They are one of the teams fancied for promotion, so you can compare yourself against what they're like.
"If we match up to them then there's no reason why we can't have the same ambition for the end of the season that they have."

“The table certainly DOES lie - every week until each team has played one another. Only after the full seasons fixtures have been completed can the table ever be 'true'.
One of the greatest myths in football that one. (I think we'll flirt with the play offs at best myself)
Up the Iron!”

“You're right there Ironite, Dagnall has ran himself into the ground in the last two games. Going back to his old club on Tuesday will fire him up even more.”

“Goodness me, if Dagnall's performances in the last two weeks are anything to go by then two things are certain : a) he will become an absolute fans favourite; and b) he will be knackered by November.
Really frustrated by the last two weekends with two very good performances full of energy and thrust, with Dagnall and Mozzy in the middle providing a superb catalyst. Its a big if, but IF we had played against Colchester and Sheffield United with the correct number of players on each side (which is probably 10 a side last week and eleven a side this week) we would have won both comfortably.
Like we keep saying, someone stands on the brink of an absolute thumping. I'd hate to be Rochdale next week.”
