Scunthorpe Utd: Dropping into relegation zone doesn't alter anything – Barcham
The Iron's position might have changed, but Andy Barcham says their objective remains the same.
Dropping into the relegation zone should not alter the way the team approach games, according to the Scunthorpe winger.

Learning how to win: Andy Barcham
Without a win in six, the focus has always been on turning round United's form, regardless of their place in the table.
"I don't think it changes anything because at the moment the results we've been getting have been relegation form," said Barcham.
"We haven't been playing well. Just because we weren't in the drop zone, we were still unhappy with the performances and the results.
"The objective has always been to change that, and that still hasn't changed. We still need to change the performances and get the results, so in that sense it's still the same.
"It is difficult to get out of the relegation zone, but even hovering above it is no good.
"If we're not playing well and we're not getting the points, it's always going to be a case of we could drop in.
"For me, we've still got to go about it in the same way – being together as a team and looking to get the points on the board.
"That's what we were looking to do before we went in there and that's what we're looking to do now we're in there.
"If you do start to play well and you do start to get the results then you're only going to come out of it."
Psychological factors are also likely to come into play given their 3-1 defeat to Bury was the second home game in succession United have let an early lead slip.
"Naturally it's going to play on your mind because of what's been happening recently," said Barcham.
"But when you play well you feel confident and you play better. That's what was happening in the first half against Bury.
"We were playing well and created chances and we just started to play even better.
"Then coming out for the second half and being on the back foot, then we get anxious and it changes the performance.
"It's about learning how to win a game.
"If you've got that 1-0 lead you should always try to be positive and keep going.
"Everyone can see what we're capable of. We've just got to learn how to win games."

“Well the proof will be in the pudding as so to speak !
Let's see what is served up today. Will we see a tempo to our play with a desire and determination to succeed or will the white flag be raised come 3pm.
It's a no win situation for AK today as far as I'm concerned - get the result and we've beaten the bottom team - anything else and the wind of change will be blowing hard !!”

“Xcahoot - I admire your optimism however, surprise, I feel it is misplaced. Being a realist I cannot share your bright prospects claim. The injury list will have some genuine ones on there but I do know of a few that are damaged pride only. We do have some talented players in the squad but they are being held back by ego's and the fact that AK told some they aren't wanted here despite the fact they still are.
There is a "we" - it is not a royal "we" but I think you will find that now "you" are in a minority with the other optimists as it isn't rocket science to understand where we are and why we are where we are.”

“Writers on this site .
Speak their own views only & should not be so presumptuous as to say :
"we"....
I read what Barcham says and I agree with the lad.
Does anyone read the story before they comment ?
Further more I think we will finish mid table.
Yes I honestly do
I have faith in the Ginger Mourinho Staff & Lads to turn it around
I do not subscribe to the view that the team are not trying.
I think they are.
Get off their backs .
Players have to be allowed time to settle after long term injury.
To build up stamina , its called match fitness.
Our demise has been more than anything because of injury.
But just like the phoenix we will rise again .
Get behind the team.
Up The Iron .
Happy New Year everyone”

“Sorry young Mr B, but you are heading back from whence you came. Namely Lge 2. I saw you play for Gillingham at Barnet and you were nothing exceptional then.
Can you let me know, please, why you run at full backs only to lose control of the ball ? Just as in the first half vs Bury. Then just the same in the secind half until it was finally noticed and you were substituted. Didn't you get any advice on alternative measures at half time ?
If you take any interest in what the supporters think by reading these threads and have sufficient interest to reply sensibly but can't, you can always get Sarah Clapson to write it for you.”

“Can anyone explain how clubs decide on ticket prices. Can they charge what they want or is there some set criteria. I just can't understand how Hartlepool can justify charging away fans £25.”

“Who do the supporters think the players are that are not pulling their weight and for why? Its strange that they can put in really good performances.sometimes only for half a game it is so frustrating. The lack of confidence is down to not being able or capable of scoring goals.!!!!!”

“It does for the fans Barchy. We have lost all faith in you as players, AK as manager and the board. We pay good money to come and watch you play entertaining football and to get an acceptable level of results.
This season we have had neither. Again, lets cut out the talk on here and put it onto the pitch. We know you are surrounded by those who want to pick up a wage and it is like playing with 8 men every game but that is AK's and the board's fault.
It isn't too late to get out of danger but the longer we have to suffer these unacceptable results and performances the harder it is going to be and will only put on us more pressure later in the season.
Despite what you say there are no chances that are being created and what few there are are not taken up. As a team you are not capable because there isn't a team at the moment. There are individuals like yourself who are lights at the end of a tunnel but you are getting let down by others.”
