Scunthorpe Utd: Iron displays 'impress' Premier League champs Manchester United
They may be yet to win a League One match this season, but Scunthorpe United have made an impression on one of the world's most successful clubs.
Manager Alan Knill says Premier League champions Manchester United have been 'really impressed' with the football the Iron have played, having begun to pay attention to their displays following Oliver Norwood and Sam Johnstone's loan moves to Glanford Park.
Knill says it is a style that will hopefully pave the way for burgeoning relations between the two clubs.
Talking about the displays of another Premier League loanee, Shane Duffy, the Iron boss said: "We keep Everton informed of how he's doing and send them DVDs, it's the same with the two kids from Man United.
"They were at the game on Saturday and the reports were that they were really impressed with how we're playing.
"While we continue to do that they'll let us have players I would have thought."
Duffy is three weeks into his month's stay at Scunthorpe, which has seen him start each of the last three games.
Although there has been no conversation between the two clubs about extending the deal, Knill is confident it won't be an issue.
"The understanding was that Shane came and played as many games as possible and I've got to say he's done really well," he added.
"The intention is to keep the loan going and while he's playing in the first team I'm sure Everton are happy."
