Scunthorpe Utd: Knill - We need reinforcements
WITH Scunthorpe United on a seven-game run in the space of 21 days, manager Alan Knill is adamant he needs reinforcements.
His frustration in the transfer market appears to know no bounds, with the need for a striker all the more pressing after Jordan Robertson broke his ankle in training last Thursday.

No new signings have been made since Andy Barcham and Jimmy Ryan were unveiled earlier in the summer, and, ahead of the visit of Oldham Athletic tonight, Knill admits his squad may yet get stretched to its limit should any more players succumb to injury.
"We need more bodies, but getting them in at this time of the season is quite difficult," said the United manager.
"We had bodies. We decided to lose them to reduce the budget.
"But, unfortunately, Jordan took a knock and Jimmy (Ryan) took a knock.
"If we are all fit, we are okay, we have got plenty of players.
"But we have had a couple of knocks and lost a couple.
"If we take a couple more it becomes difficult.
"But we are no different to any other club - we haven't got 30 players to pick from so we have just got to get on with it."
After two League One draws, United head into the clash with the Latics eager to register their first victory of the campaign in the third tier.
And although some fans may see tonight as a good opportunity to do that, against an Oldham side who have started poorly, Knill is not so sure.
"Everyone will look at their results and think (badly about) Oldham, but it is so early in the season," he added.
"It really is irrelevant about results.
"It is about us and I think we can play better than we did on Saturday (against Preston North End), so that is the aim.
"It is not about shape, it is about what we do when we get the ball.
"We are at home, so we have got to take the game to them and stamp our authority.
"Don't get me wrong, we realise they are going to be a difficult opponent.
"But I am hoping they are thinking we are a difficult opponent."

“Well done mr Knill you have reduced the wage budget as required. Now can you go and knock on Whartons door and ask for some of the connor sammon money we never spent, or the new stand money which also never happened.Ithink its time for another fans forum with our board and chairman in attendance this time ,so we can guage which direction the club wants to go and i can make up my mind if they are still worthy of our support."UP THE IRON"!!!”

A team consists of 11 players. At least he's making the bench and will get his chance.”

“So why give a forward a 2 year contract , Matty Godden, and then not play him?”
