Scunthorpe Utd: Mirfin's return to Iron rests on fellow defender's Watford future
Scunthorpe United hope transfer deadline day will signal the return of David Mirfin to Glanford Park.
But manager Alan Knill has warned it may be 'a lot later this evening' that any deals are concluded.

Scunthorpe United want to re-sign David Mirfin, seven months after he exited Glanford Park for Championship side Watford.
The Iron snapped up young Wolves left-back Jamie Reckord on loan for a month yesterday and more temporary transfers are being lined up, with a centre-half the top priority.
The Telegraph understands Watford are happy to let the 26-year-old return north, to the club he left at the end of last season, providing they do not lose Adrian Mariappa, who has been the subject of interest from Newcastle United and Wigan Athletic during the past couple of weeks.
"I'm hopeful there'll be some new faces," said Knill this morning.
"But we're governed by other clubs and we're finding that they're waiting just in case they lose players on the last day.
"That makes it pretty difficult, so we probably won't know definitely until a lot later this evening.
"It will only be loans. We're not buying anybody, we're just looking to loan people.
"The clubs that have players are cautious, because they might lose players on the last day of the transfer window."
A deal to sign Reckord, although only completed yesterday morning, has been in place for a while.
He is in contention to make his debut against another West Midlands club, Walsall, on Saturday, and Knill says recruiting the highly-rated 19-year-old was a 'no-brainer' given their current lack of options on the left side of defence.
"The deal was done a week ago, but obviously as we didn't have a game at the weekend, he came in yesterday," added the United manager.
"He's highly rated at Wolves and we've never had a proper left-back, with a left foot. We felt we needed someone to boost the squad and add more competition.
"I went to watch him a month ago and Mick (McCarthy) highly recommended him. It was a no-brainer.
"Wolves have done us a favour with the wages, so we're delighted to have brought him in.
"Obviously there are other areas we'd like to strengthen, but when this came about it worked for both clubs."

“I'm sorry Oldironfan but its more than likely to be a 0 point February. You know how useless SUFC are against fellow strugglers.
We are down, its all over. Tight boy chairman and useless manager.
Hibs in for O'Connor. If the money is good, take it. He has been poor all season.”

“On paper, at least, this is the defensive strengthening everyone was hoping for. With the return of some of the walking wounded, AK will at last have options for his team selection and he couldn't have wished for a better run of games to show that we are more capable than our fellow strugglers. Players, management and fans need to give everything to ensure that we have a 9 point February.”
