Scunthorpe Utd: Nicky Ajose joins Iron on three-month loan
Scunthorpe United have beaten off competition from a host of clubs to land former Manchester United starlet Nicky Ajose on loan.
The player signed a three-month deal with the Iron today, after details on the move were finalised yesterday afternoon.

Nicky Ajose has agreed a three-month loan switch to Scunthorpe United - five months after he first became a target for the Iron.
Ajose was originally a target for Scunthorpe back in the summer, but he left the Premier League champions to join Posh in a £300,000 deal to replace Brighton-bound Craig Mackail-Smith.
He started his new club's first match of the campaign, only to break down with a hamstring injury and has since been unable to force his way into boss Darren Ferguson's plans.
Peterborough director of football Barry Fry told the Telegraph it was with some reluctance Ajose had been allowed to move to Glanford Park, where he will stay until January.
"It's more him saying he wants to go than our gaffer saying he wants him out, but we understand it," said Fry.
"He's a young boy who wants to play.
"We've had better offers from other clubs, but he wants to go and rejoin Alan Knill having had a successful time under him last year.
"We've reluctantly allowed that to happen.
"I've agreed a deal with Steve (Wharton) and Alan to allow him to go there for three months."
Ajose's arrival is timely for United, where a growing casualty list sees no less than nine players missing or rated as doubtful for Saturday's game with Yeovil Town.
He is sure to settle in quickly too, having become familiar with Knill's style of football while on loan at Bury last season.
The 19-year-old striker, who can also play out wide, scored 13 times in 28 games for the Shakers and Fry is hopeful the move will end up being as beneficial to Posh as it will the Iron.
"Nicky has been very unfortunate," Fry continued.
"He looked brilliant during pre-season and played the first game against Crystal Palace but after 20 minutes he pulled his hamstring and he hasn't played for the first-team since.
"He's played two reserve games and scored last week, but he just wants to play.
"Alan is a great coach and gets the best out of his players. I'm sure he'll get the best out of Nicky. Scunthorpe have got a top player there.
"I've got a lot of feelings for Scunthorpe. I think they're a marvellous club.
"They're at the wrong end of the table at the minute, but hopefully Nicky will go there, help the club get a few wins under their belt and come back confident."
As part of the deal, Peterborough have a 24-hour recall option on Ajose, who turned down the chance to return to home town club Bury.

“Having seen two promotions out of this division in four years we know what kind of football getsyou out of this division and it certainly isn't hoofball.
When Bury have spent several years out of league two then this multi-identity idiot can talk with authority, until then shut up.”

“You have gone very quiet Mr.Murphy i genuinely think this weekend your long suffering supporters will taste victory if against a very poor team.Once again Ak has trumped his old club and probably dumped them in the bottom 4.Do you think he has got an axe to grind or a point to prove?.What price on Sean O'driscoll becoming your next manager?.I don't think pretty football will get you promoted out of this league you need to be big and strong from 1 to 11.”

“So what have your comments got to do with what i wrote Eddie?,thanks for leaving a message on the Times site.It had to be you, could'nt resist a wind up could you?.Nicky Ajose is a fine footballer but remember he's not your player or ours for that matter.I expect him to do well at Gp but like he said recently in an interview his confidence is a little shot.He chose The Iron ahead of many other clubs because his reutation last season at Gigg lane was huge,he would have a lot to live up to so he wanted to go to a club where nobody really knew much about him.I'm sure your brilliant manager will get the best out of him.By the way if the Iron cannot beat the likes of Yeovil & Orient your players might need to see their Gp.”

“Good signing if he remains clear of injury. I must admit the 24 hour call back is a joke and if he starts scoring they will call him back as soon as they can. We have turned them down on O'Conner and I can't help but think we will be seeing him leave come January. Shame as I think he will come into some great form this season.”
