Scunthorpe Utd: Norwood benefiting from Iron spell
Manchester United loanee Oliver Norwood admits it has taken some time to adapt, but believes he is starting to get to grips with life at Scunthorpe.
And that means he can only continue to get better.

ADAPTING: Oliver Norwood
“I think I’ve done well,” said the midfielder, who was called up to the Northern Ireland squad this week, ruling him out of Saturday’s game with Leyton Orient.
“I’ve been asked to play in a position that I’m not quite used to, just coming in off the left-hand side.
“The gaffer (Alan Knill) spoke to me and said they wanted to get me on the ball and play in different positions. He asked me to try that one out and I’ve done quite well at it.
“I just feel like I’m getting fitter and fitter.
“The games are a lot faster and more physical at this level but I think I’m adapting quite well.
“It’s been a great move for me so far and I’m really enjoying it.
“I just want to play as much as I can, keep improving my game and show what a good player I can be.
“And hopefully I can help the team get as high up the league as possible.”
Improvements in defence will help that cause, according to Norwood.
“Before the first win against Yeovil we were playing really well but just couldn’t punish teams,” he said. “We were leaking goals.
“But we’ve worked on a few things in training and the back four’s been brilliant.
“For the last two league games, they’ve been solid.
“It’s great to know you’ve got them behind you keeping the ball out the net.
“If you know you’ve got a good, solid back five, you know that if it’s not quite going for you, they can keep the back door shut.”
