Scunthorpe Utd: Scan reveals Jennings will be out for next eight weeks
A scan has revealed Scunthorpe United striker Connor Jennings faces eight weeks on the sidelines with a broken metatarsal.
The 20-year-old suffered the injury in training on Monday, little more than a week after signing for the Iron, and has now been told he will be out of action until at least mid-March.

OUT OF ACTION: Connor Jennings will have to wait at least two months to add to his first Scunthorpe appearance after suffering a broken metatarsal
Jennings signed a two-and-half-year deal from Stalybridge Celtic and enjoyed a promising debut last Saturday, coming off the bench in the Iron's 1-1 draw at Colchester United.
It is a blow for Scunthorpe after manager Alan Knill admitted the front man hadn't looked 'out of place' since switching to Glanford Park.

“I come on to wish the lad 'all the best' and the idiot has already been on to comment how he looks like the Joker from Batman.
Just more negativity.”

“I'm looking forward to seeing Jennings play for the Iron as he is obviously at the stage of his career with something to prove. Sincerely hope he balances what he, hopefully, achieves and what he wants to do after the Iron with a respect for the club that nurtured that success as it seems that too many recent players have erred towards pure self interest at the mercy of the team, the fans and the club in general. Time will tell. It is comforting to know that there are still some players with a degree of integrity beyond their own pocket and I put my faith in Connor Jennings being one of those increasingly rare and noble breed.”

“Bad luck with new strikers so far this season, two in and both injured within one game and sidelined for months, not to mention loan striker not living up to expectations and another one in and out of fitness.”
