Defender Shane Duffy believes Scunthorpe United are starting to put 'fear' into visiting teams at Glanford Park.

The Everton loanee admits it has taken time for Alan Knill's side to gel this season.

But with Tranmere Rovers next in line to visit North Lincolnshire, he is confident the Iron are now starting to realise their potential.

"Hopefully we can make our place a fortress and make teams fear us when they come here, knowing they're in for a tough game," said Duffy.

"I think teams are starting to get that fear.

"They know we're a good team and know they're in for a tough test not an easy game.

"If they do get all the points, they will have to work really hard for it.

"I think we are a tough team to beat and we're playing well now.

"We're a confident team and we're getting better.

"It took a while to gel at the start of the season but I think it's all come together.

"I think everyone can see that we've turned a corner on the pitch.

"For a start, we're not conceding as many poor goals. It's looking a lot more solid at the moment.

"It just takes time when new people come in. You have to let it settle down.

"But hopefully we can keep pushing on."
