Third choice goalkeeper Jake Turner has become the latest Scunthorpe United player to seek first team experience at Brigg Town.

The 18-year-old, who is yet to feature for United's first string, has signed for the Evo-Stik First Division South side for a month initially, following in the footsteps of Johnathan Williams and Matt Godden, both of whom appeared at the Hawthorns while on loan from the Iron.

Zebras boss Pete Daniel moved swiftly to cover the absence of starting keeper Tom Woodhead, who is unavailable for their next game, and Billy Ward, who has decided to take time out of football.

"With the connections I have at the club - I know Tony Daws (United's youth development manager) from my time at Winterton Rangers - I knew they had a goalkeeper who needed games," he said.

"It was a case of scratching their back and they scratch ours."

Turner is expected to make his debut tonight when Town host Shepshed Dynamo.
