Mike Grella and Christian Ribeiro have this afternoon completed their expected moves to Scunthorpe United.

Both of the duo, who have been two of manager Alan Knill's top targets this summer, have penned two-year contracts, with the option to extend Ribeiro's stay into a third season.

It takes the number of new recruits at Glanford Park since the end of last season to five.

The other three - goalkeeper James Severn, midfielder Josh Walker and full-back Callum Kennedy - met their new Iron team-mates this morning as United returned for pre-season training.

Grella and Ribeiro will join them tomorrow, having today had their medicals ahead of signing their Iron contracts.

Ribeiro, 22, will be familiar with most of the Scunthorpe squad, having spent two months with United between January and March.

He played 10 games on loan from Bristol City, from where he was released in May.

American Grella is still yet to really hold down a regular starting role in English football since joining Leeds United in the summer of 2008.

But he scored four goals in 10 league appearances for Bury during the second half of the last campaign and will be aiming to continue that form at Glanford Park.

“Agreed Dabone i will take a sabital from this place until the new season begins.Enjoy your time with your treasure.Did you see how the friendlies went on Saturday?,we won 6-1 although i agree the opposition were only Radcliffe Borough. However they had just beaten relegated Rochdale 2-1 in midweek. So much for a season of struggle we will be just fine.Good luck with your campaign all the best to Alan Knill and his efforts to avoid a second relegation in 3 seasons and a career third relegation if you count his time at Rotherham United.”

I've got a nine week old daughter!!!!! She's much better than the nightlife round here! I'm drawing a line in the sand with you now #hadenough. Enjoy the season”

“Sorry Dabone i'm affraid my comments were misdirected with regard to Rangers and the take over.Hurtingfan was the intended person for these comments. It's possible from time to time that an angry mob of haters can somewhat distract you from making the correct responses to the intended targets. Now please do get a life, job = money = socialising and having a good time not spending wasted hours on this jokebox.”

    “Mr Stoff:

I have not plagiarised you, I have quoted you

I have not immitated you, I have parodied you

I don't think anyone has ever referred to me as a "lowlife" before

I think you meant "ego" not "alter ego"”

“It may help if you didn't try and plagiarise me. Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, It is flattering to think my alter ego is so good some lowlife has to mirror it.”

    “Gill

I think you're confusing me with someone else (PStoff maybe?)

There has been no bad behavior, attitude or slurs from me and the only person I may be acused of impersonating is PStoff though I was not intending to be mistaken for him but to be seen as a little "dig" at him

therefore, please feel free to answer my previous questions

in answer to your question, I don't know why it took him so long to agree to our offer (though it doesn't seem to have been that long; Telegraph said on Thurs 28th June that an offer was made "earlier this week" and then said on Tues 3rd July that they were hopeful to confirm signings after a medical the following Monday: I make that a maximum of 8 days) maybe he just wanted to be sure that he was making the right decision

PS I've just read your second comment, I live in England and don't believe eveything I read”

“My previous comments were made prior to me reading his Mike's own account on another page. That was the only mistake i made,if you believe everything that is written here then you are a dumbdowning nominee victim.

Personally i still think The Iron have paid over the odds in terms of wages and bonuses and Mike is telling us one thing and the club will know something different.

I'll bet that someone has to make way for Mike to reduce the wage bill, don't let that greek sunshine and cheap booze rob you off those two remaining brain cells fluffy. She claps.”

“Mike Grella had an offer on the table weeks ago,so why then has it taken so long for him to eventually choose to accept the Iron's terms?.

So you are using a washed up celebrity comic's picture as your own?.I don't know which is worse?.That means that your comments can not be taken with any credit on this site for you are impersonating a comedian, well that sort of has a ring about it ha ha ha.

I don't have to answer your question as i would be condoning your behaviour, attitude and accepting your slurs towards me.We must meet up for a drink sometime in my home town of Scunthorpe,i think most of it would end up on the floor don't you ha ha.
She claps and takes a bow”
