Scunthorpe bowls ladies make early excists from two competitions
THE club has entered a new knockout competition this season called the National Top Club competition.
It is a mixed team which consists of a men's and ladies' singles, mixed pairs, mixed triples and mixed fours rinks.

Playing away against a tough York team, Scunthorpe only managed to secure a win in the triples and a draw in the fours, leaving the hosts to secure the victory by 10 points to six (105 shots to 70).
Scunthorpe Men played a National Knockout Inter-Club Championship (Denny Cup) game (two rinks at home and two away) against an extremely strong Lincoln team. The final result overall was a comfortable 90-56 win for Lincoln.

In the National Over-60s Men's Double rinks, Scunthorpe A beat Skegness (43-35 shots) and Horncastle (41-37), eventually losing to Lincoln A (40-33).
Scunthorpe B beat Lincoln B (43-35) in their first game and then lost to Lincoln A (78-28).
Scunthorpe Ladies lost their first match in the National Knockout Inter-Club Championship (Yetton Trophy) to Horncastle (74-72).
They also failed to beat Louth (92-74) in the National Knockout Inter-Club Competition (Yetton Plate), making early exits from these competitions.
In the Over-60s Double rinks (Mason Trophy), Scunthorpe Ladies lost in the first round to a very strong Lincoln team (61-21).
