Scunthorpe boxing fans' anger as Tyson refunds bounce
DISAPPOINTED boxing fans were dealt another blow after cheques given as refunds for the cancelled Mike Tyson appearance at a Scunthorpe gym opening bounced.
Promoter Leon Dobbs said he wrote refund cheques for around 200 fans who were gutted when Tyson's scheduled appearance at the opening of the Dynamite School of Boxing on High Street on November 5 was cancelled .

But disgruntled ticket holders called the Scunthorpe Telegraph to complain the cheques had bounced.
Mr Dobbs said he believed the cheques would be honoured when he wrote them - but said a source of funding fell through.
Mr Dobbs said: "At the time I wrote the cheques I had some money coming in from somewhere that was covering that. That's why I was writing them. That changed."
He said he was no longer running the gym but was staying on as a boxing coach.
Mr Dobbs added: "Everyone is still getting refunds. People are going to be sorted. I will be an employee of the new company. There is no money changing hands. I have got no money. People will be refunded in one way or another."
The gym opening was set to feature Tyson and Frank Bruno but was cancelled when North Lincolnshire Council building inspectors deemed the High Street gym unsafe for the number of people due to attend the event.
Up to 400 people have told Mr Dobbs they want refunds on their £50 tickets.
Mr Dobbs told the Scunthorpe Telegraph ticket holders would be offered access to future events and use of the gym facilities instead of cash in some cases.
