Scunthorpe tweeters defend the town voted least romantic place to visit in the UK
Scunthorpe tweeters have taken to social networking site Twitter to defend the town after it was voted the least romantic destination in the UK by a poll.
With 21 per cent of the vote, Scunthorpe, was named the most unromantic place to visit in the entire UK.
The poll, by holiday booking site Hotels.com, surveyed 2000 Brits and The Lake District came out on top as the most romantic destination.
But many tweeters said that romance is not dead in the town.
