THE search is on to find worthy nominees for Crowle's Doctor Bruce Trophy award 2008.

Crowle Town Council would like you to put forward names of individuals or organisations who deserve to win accolade.

The late Dr Bruce, Crowle's former GP, donated the trophy to reward the town's unsung heroes years ago.

Crowle Town councillors usually put forward suggestions for nominees but this year they have invited the public to nominate someone they think deserves to win, in a bid to find a person or group who is the most worthy.

An overall winner will be chosen from all the nominations received.

The trophy is currently held by last year's recipients, Friends of Ealand Park, and will hopefully be presented to the 2008 winner by the town mayor in December.

The decision to involve the public was made at a Crowle Town Council meeting this week.

Worthy nominees must live in Crowle and carry out charitable work which helps the community.

Nominees have until Monday December 1, 2008 to send their suggestions to Katy Fowler, at Meadows Cottage, Fieldside, Crowle, North Lincolnshire, DN17 4HL.
