JUBILANT Winterton boss Richard Sennett has hailed his Rangers side, who are fast becoming kings of the cup.

The West Street team sealed their spot in the Presidents Cup final with a 3-2 extra-time win over Dinnington in midweek, thanks in no small part to Liam Wilkin's hat-trick.

That puts Rangers in two showpiece occasions (the Lincolnshire Senior Trophy being the other), with Sennett praising his side's spirit as the club stand on the brink of a double cup triumph this term.

"We are over the moon. We said at the start of the season that one cup run would be good but to get to two cup finals, it's more than we expected," Sennett told the Telegraph.

"They have shown a lot of character and bottle.

"They have had a lot of tough games in this competition (Presidents Cup).

"In the first round, Pickering were 4-2 up at one stage but they came back to win 6-4 – they never know when they are beaten.

"We have got a strong squad now, we have 16 or 17 who we would have no worries about bringing in.

"The last three or four weeks we have rotated, so in the couple of finals, it is going to be a massive headache.

"There are going to be some disappointed lads on those nights."

That squad is going to be stretched to its limits over the coming weeks, with a host of injuries massing after a demanding fixture list.

Rangers have 12 games to play between now and May 4.

And they head into a daunting trip to league leaders Bridlington Town tomorrow without the services of Graeme Severn (hamstring), while Gav Cooper (groin), Stuart Longbone (hamstring) and Micah Bleau (thigh) are all rated doubtful.
