SEVEN tries secured a 35-12 victory for Scunthorpe at Rotherham Titans.

The first 10 minutes were an evenly-matched battle, with both sets of forwards slugging it out in the mud.

The Greens attacked again and from a ruck, front row Ross Clapton was slipped the ball and proved unstoppable as he drove over for the second try.

From a penalty, George Taylor came in to the line and weaved his way through the defence to make it 15-0.

Rotherham responded to make it 15-5 at half-time.

The backs, led by fly-half Oliver Bevington, started the attack in the second half. Taylor almost went over but was tackled close to the line.

In the ensuing play a scrum was awarded and scrum-half Archie Swain went over for the first of his two tries.

Rotherham fought back and a converted try meant they were still in the game.

From a run by Botham, Morgan Turner supported well at the tackle only to see the ball bounce forward as he tried to ground it for a try.

From the scrum, the ball was won and flashed along the line to Turner, who got the seventh try of the match.

Man of the Match awards went to Taylor and Scott.
