Sir Ian Botham likely to be the talk of 'select' cricket evening at Forest Pines
A famous cricket personality will be guest speaker at a sportsmen's dinner staged at Forest Pines Hotel near Broughton next month - with tales about Sir Ian Botham forecast to feature among Geoff Miller's many anecdotes.
Chairman of the England team selectors, Geoff will be the guest of Caistor Town Cricket Club on Friday, March 22.
The event is being held to raise funds for the club's Junior Cricket Academy.
Geoff - the former Derbyshire, Essex, Natal and England all-rounder - is renowned as an entertaining after-dinner speaker.

He played in 34 Tests, 25 One Day Internationals and went on seven overseas tours.
For five years he was Ian Botham's room-mate and is said to have "a few funny stories to tell about those times."
Sir Ian then lived in Epworth. He trained with, and played for, Scunthorpe United - international cricket commitments permitting.
Reg Percival, the event organiser at Caistor Town Cricket Club, said: “To secure Geoff is a great coup for the club." Tickets are now available at £37, including a three-course dinner.
