Sky Sports speedway cameras to cover Scunthorpe Scorpions v Workington Comets
The Sky Sports television cameras are set to come to the Eddie Wright Raceway on Tuesday, April 30 to film the reigning Premier League Champions, Henderson Insurance Scunthorpe Scorpions, as they entertain Workington Comets.
The Scorpions v Comets Premier League fixture has been moved back four days from its original date of Friday, April 26 to accommodate the Sky cameras.
It will be the second time that the Eddie Wright Raceway will have featured in a live match on Sky Sports, following a Scunthorpe v Sheffield clash in May 2009.
Scunthorpe promoter Rob Godfrey said: “I am absolutely delighted that Sky are coming to us for the home meeting against Workington.

“We are determined to put on a great show for them. I firmly believe that we have the best racetrack in the country.
“Last time Sky were in town, it was a fantastic meeting in front of a large crowd that showed both Scunthorpe Speedway and the whole of the sport in a positive light, and that’s what we will be aiming to do again.
“It will be one of our first league matches of the season, as we attempt to successfully defend the Premier League title – something no-one has done before. Workington Comets have again assembled a strong side in 2013, and it is likely to be a highly competitive meeting.”
Sky Sports show Elite League racing on a regular basis, as well as the occasional Premier League meeting during the season.
