SCUNTHORPE United's home clash with Manchester United in the third round of the Carling Cup will be screened live on Sky Sports.

The game, to be played on Wednesday, September 22, will provide the Iron with a £175,000 windfall as they make their debut on television this season.

The club have announced ticket details for the game. Adults will be charged £25 in seating areas and £21 in the standing section.

Seniors and under-21 tickets are £18 in seating and £16 in standing, while under-16s pay £11.

Season ticket holders can buy one ticket per season pass, with online orders available on Thursday, September 2 and Friday, September 3. Tickets are then available for season ticket holders by phone, online and at the box office on Saturday, September 4 and Monday, September 6.

Iron members then have the chance to purchase, with one ticket per member and online sales starting on Monday, September 6 (from 5pm). Phone, online and box office avenues are all accessible on Tuesday, September 7 and Wednesday, September 8.

Alternatively, supporters who have bought tickets for either the Bristol City home game or the Ipswich clash can buy a ticket for the Manchester United encounter (if they are on the club's database) on Thursday, September 9 and Friday, September 10 via phone or in person.

To be on the club's database you need to have bought a ticket for a home or away game in the last five years, and provided a name and contact details.

Any remaining tickets go on general sale on Monday, September 13.

“The Iron should tell Sky to ram it - they never put us on despite being the best team in the country over the last five years.

It is a disgrace that not one Iron vs Hull/Grimsby/Lincoln/Dony derby has ever been screened .... all they've ever caused is misery like thge time they switched the Bristol City home game to a Monday or the Leicester game to 5pm...RUBBISH.

    Up the Iron!”

“This is a great chance for the club to make a bit of money "unitedoldboy", if you had wanted to attend a match cheaply, you should have attended either the first or second round games, just like the 2,000 of us did.

UNITED V MAN UTD, and you want half price entry, Scunthorpe people will never ever surprise me with their comments.”

“Being on Sky gives us the income which we would have got if the game had been at Old Trafford, therefore a good result all round. Will be and interesting encounter at GP and one which will give us all 90 minutes of near fantasy football.”
