Stamford’s first attacking move highlighted the threat from James Ozmen when he found space to strike a shot over the Brigg goal, following a throw-in on the left.
Brigg’s best move saw Bruno Holden and Paul Grimes working the ball for Liam Davis to send a snap shot over the bar from fifteen yards out.
The home team took the lead after twenty –three minutes when the ball was worked down the left wing before being pulled back for BEN SAUNDERS to have an easy tap in.
A weak back pass from Chas Fisher almost let in Ben Saunders for a second goal but he curled his shot wide of the far post.
The first half closed with another free kick from Liam Davis saved inside the post by ‘keeper Matt Finlay.
The second half began with Stamford’s Danny Brooks eventually cautioned for a foul on Liam Davis, and Greg Archer headed Ryan Paczkowski’s free kick wide.
Further players’ names were added to the referee’s growing list before Paczkowski was sent off for his second caution.
This put the Brigg defenders under more pressure and the home team were then awarded a hotly disputed penalty kick after seventy minutes for a challenge inside the area by Chas Fisher.
Miles Fenty got his fingertips to ANDREW HALL’s spot kick but the ball flew into the back of the net.
The home team were in control and added a third goal two minutes from time when JORDAN HEPENSTALL gained possession on the edge of the penalty area before curling a lovely shot inside Miles Fenty’s goal post.
