Stars of business await glittering awards night
THE talents and successes of hardworking businesses through-out the region will be recognised at a glittering awards ceremony.
Nominations for this year's Mail News & Media Business Awards were received from companies small and large, demonstrating how strong local businesses in Hull and East Yorkshire are, despite battling through the tough economic climate.
The awards, which will take place at Willerby Manor Hotel on November 15, recognise the best of business talent and as the finalists have now been revealed, business people will be eagerly awaiting the results.
Mail editor Neil Hodgkinson thanked the organisations that have stepped up this year and put themselves forward, as well as the judges who gave up their time to assess each and every entry.

He said: "These awards are designed to celebrate the success Hull and East Yorkshire businesses are achieving amid of the longest recession in living memory.
"Earlier this year, I called on businesses not to be shy but to tell us about their achievements so they can be highlighted and celebrated.
"I have not been disappointed.
"In the current climate, businesses would be forgiven for keeping their heads down and concentrating on their day-to-day demands but we have been overwhelmed with both the number and the quality of entries, which demonstrates just how resilient local businesses are.
"Every entrant should, therefore, feel very proud, whether they win or not.
"The judges have had their work cut out. I certainly didn't envy the task of trying to separate the company excellence or individual talent that has been submitted."
Allan Leighton will be guest speaker at the celebratory ceremony, providing an insight into a career that has seen the turnaround of some of Britain's best-known companies.
Mr Leighton will be joined by journalist and presenter Helen Fospero, who will be compere for the evening. She will be detailing how local companies are providing much-needed jobs and wealth for the region.
