E YORKS: The Hull and East Yorkshire Credit Union is encouraging its 10,000 members to open a Christmas Savings Account.

The account allows members to pay in as much as they want but the money can only be withdrawn in November. It aims to help people begin saving early for their Christmas shopping.

Chief executive John Smith said: "Christ- mas is always the most expensive time of year and so it makes sense to put a little money aside each week or month.

"Opening a Christmas Saver account is good money management and definitely one of the best ways to improve your financial wellbeing.
