Steve Spence stops Lincoln's Steve Swinburn in eighth round to keep British Masters title
SCUNTHORPE'S Steve Spence successfully defended his British Masters light middleweight title in Lincoln on Saturday night - despite a slow start.
The former Centurions ABC won his fight with Steve Swinburn by technical knockout, with the referee stopping the bout in the eighth round after Spence had caught his opponent with a quick shot that left Swinburn unsteady on his feet.

Prior to the stoppage, Swinburn had won almost every round, but Spence came back to end the Lincoln fighter's previously unbeaten record.
Spence won the title belt in October, with victory over Andrew Patterson, and Saturday's fight at the North Kesteven Centre was his first defence.
