Support for Kimberly-Clark workers in Barton pledged during Prime Minister's Question Time
Prime Minister David Cameron has pledged the Government’s support for employees affected by the planned closure next spring of the Kimberly-Clark plant in Barton-Upon-Humber.
A task force has already been set up by North Lincolnshire Council and partner agencies to help the workforce at the nappy-making factory find new jobs.
Speaking at Prime Minister’s Question Time today in response to a question from Barton MP Martin Vickers, Mr Cameron said the task force would do everything it could to help the workers.
He said: “The Government will give it our support and support our employees to find alternative employment.”

“Cameron has joined the debate.
Consider yourselves completely alone.
This man is just as much a pathological liar as his previous Prime minster and the one before him.”

“If Cameron says so then we can all sleep easy. Why don't they build a Mercedes car plant there & every time Camoron gives a half squillion quid in overseas aid there'll always be some extra shifts going.”

“Sister_Wendy8
Of course it is spin; I would suspect that when they shut them gates for the last time the people effected will be forgotten about. Thousands of people have lost jobs in this region since 2008 so what difference is another 400 going to make. Are the authorities going to make sure every one of those people affected are going to be offered new jobs with similar pay? The affected people will be given appointment times for the job centre so that they can be placed on the books of an agency to be called upon and dropped at a moments notice.”

“If these "task forces" are so effective, why can't all unemployed people have access to them instead of the dreadful service provided by JobCentre Minus?
Could it be spin?”
