Dr Terry Matthews, consultant in communicable disease control at North Yorkshire and the Humber Health Protection Unit, said: "We fully expected further students and staff at John Leggott College to test positive for latent TB infection, as we know that TB exists in our local communities.
"It's important to remember that people with latent TB infection have no symptoms, don't feel ill and cannot spread TB to others."
Nic Dakin, principal at John Leggott College, said: "It is really pleasing the sensible way in which the college community has responded to the screening.
"We are continuing to ensure the health and welfare of all staff and students at this time, ensuring that they have all the appropriate information and support they need.
"We have worked closely with the health services to give the best possible support to students and staff."

“I find it absolutely scandolous that all the pupils were not screened when the initial outbreak started it seems to me that the college has got the examination time out the way and then brought the whole issue back up and screened everybody, since then half the population of Scunthorpe and beyond could potentially have come in contact with somebody.”
