NORTH Lincolnshire gardener John Cavill will get a rare glimpse behind the scenes of the world-famous Chelsea Flower Show tomorrow.

John, 44, of Bottesford, has been handed a VIP pass to attend the Royal Horticultural Society event, with a view to building his own show garden there next year.

He will rub shoulders with some of the top names in gardening at the show, while also enjoying a full guided tour of the site.

He said: "I have been given a VIP entry ticket by the Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) and it allows me behind the scenes.

"I can go into the show gardens and have an inside look.

"There is a possibility of me building a show garden for next year so the RHS asked me to come down and have a behind-the-scenes look this year and see what is involved.

"I am going down tomorrow so hopefully, I will get lots of bits of information."

More than 150,000 tickets have been sold for this year's show and John said he was lucky to be granted the high level of access.

He said: "For me to get a VIP ticket is a very rare thing.

"The show manager called me and said she was quite excited about the possibility of me doing a show garden in 2011.

"They are going to give me a guided tour and I am looking forward to it."
