An Isle of Axholme pub - the New Trent Inn in Wharf Road at Ealand - is facing being knocked down for the second time.

North Lincolnshire Council has granted permission to demolish the abandoned hostelry and erect five detached dwellings with associated access and landscaping.

The application was submitted in the new year but it has taken until September for the authority to announce a decision.

The dilapidated building has been the subject of several applications since it went on the market in 2008.
