Time for some control on these excess bags?

I WONDER if is not time for the Government/council to consider some form of control over charities with their household collection bags requesting the donation of surplus clothing and bric-a-brac.

Recently, within ten minutes, two bags from different charities where delivered to houses in Valley View Drive, Bottesford.

I believe I am right in saying that is five bags that have been dropped off in the area in two weeks.

These bags are becoming a bigger nuisance than the unsolicited mail. At least you can contact Royal Mail and get it stopped.

According to the council, charities are given exemptions with regards to their bags.

If they had their way we would be walking the street naked or are they in cahoots with the shops to encourage us to purchase new clothes every week so we can donate more often?

I donate to two charities with my surplus clothing/books.

I'm therefore left with the bags of the other charities which are not collected if left out empty.

So you then have the problem of disposing of them.

If they are put in landfill they are not biodegradable
