Tonks' cricket century in vain for Haxey as David beats Goliath in North Lindsey cup final
The North Lindsey League's Division Two Knockout Cup final was a fantastic match which saw David beat Goliath as a strong Haxey side were beaten by a youthful Alkborough team at Hibaldstow.
Oliver Tonks batted throughout the Haxey innings, making an impressive 109 not out in the Isle side's total of 189 for six in which Tom Scott added 26.
Alkborough were undaunted by such a tough target and reached 191 for three in just 32 overs thanks to solid batting from Dave Killon, who hit 60, Callum Render (45), Matt Baxter (34) and Paul Mitchell, who finished on 29 not out.
Luddington went into their game at Blyth knowing a win would see them crowned undefeated Division Three champions.

Blyth have been showing great improvement of late and Luddington were hit hard by work and holiday commitments, meaning they travelled with just nine men.
But they came through to claim the title thanks to a strong battling display.
Blyth posted a total of 121 for nine from their 40 overs, Darren Clark picking up four for 17 and the ever dependable Arron Curry four for 45.
In reply, Jamie Arrowsmith chose the right time to hit his first half century for Ludd, aided by skipper Gareth Parkin whose 30 not out proved to be invaluable.
The one other Division Three game saw Broughton 4ths post a total of 160 all out against cup winners Upton cum Kexby, with 53 from Tom Reed.
The visitors replied with 165 for three.
