Scoring two shots on the first of these three ends the Rayner team were starting to look favourites, however, their opponents immediately scored three shots on the penultimate end to take a 14-13 lead.
Both teams tried hard to win the final end, but the Hebblewhite quartet scored a single shot to win this great encounter, 15-13.
In Division Two, the team of Graham Teal holds top spot, a comfortable nine points clear of nearest rivals Dave Copley's team.
John Fleming's side are two points further back.
One shot separated the teams of Trevor Bryant and Tom McDairmid in a match with an extremely close finish.
The Bryant rink held a 16-7 advantage, but McDairmid's team scored a four-shot end and followed that up by winning the remaining four ends of this fascinating duel, scoring a total of six shots to win 17-16.
The Rob Skinner pairing have taken over top spot in Evening Pairs Division One, though Steve Burton and partner are level on points.
A single shot on the final end decided the winners of a fascinating match between Bill Jackson, partnered by Keith Ellis, and Warwick Wooldridge, partnered by John Fleming.
The Jackson duo found themselves 15-12 adrift with one end left to play, but though they scored two shots, it was just short of the total required and they lost 15-14.
In Division Two, the Graham Teal pairing are now top, just two points clear of the Phil Boulton duo.
Boulton and partner Mo Regan comfortably controlled their game against Frank Pike and Margaret Douglas. Playing consistently well, they secured a 20-11 victory.
Pat Lowe's team still hold the lead in Veteran Rinks Division One, just two points clear of Peter Collins' team, who are snapping at their heels in second place.
Ron Kelly's team survived some last end tension to beat John Painter's team by a single shot, 16-15.
In a very close Division Two, the Dave Fotheringham team hold on to top spot, with Eileen Horton's side shadowing them closely on the same points. Arthur Meggett's team are just a single point behind, waiting for any slip-up.
It was an extremely close-fought match when the Meggett squad took on Terry Hardy's team.
At 11 shots each with only two ends to play, the match had reached an all or nothing scenario.
The Meggett team drew first blood, scoring a single shot on the penultimate end.
With the tension mounting they played the final end, with both teams obtaining a shot at various stages, but the Hardy team withstood the pressure and scored a single shot to secure an honourable 12-12 draw.
