Tough field for Scunthorpe speedway testimonial honouring David Howe - skipper of the Scorpions
SCUNTHORPE Scorpions skipper David Howe hopes all the stress will be worth it when he holds his testimonial on Sunday.
It is 10 years since the 31-year-old was sold to Wolverhampton. This will be his fifth season with the Scorpions and he is looking forward to celebrating at the place he considers 'home'.

"From day one I wanted to build a line-up of riders I had some connection with. People I'd ridden with and been friends with.
"So in that sense building a line-up has been very easy.
"It's a strong line-up, I can't pick a winner out of the 16 riders.
"It was never in any doubt where it was going to be.
"Scunthorpe is my home, that's the top and bottom of it.
"How focused I can be as a rider, I'm not so sure. I've got so much going on.
"I would love to win it and will certainly try my best but my focus might be slightly taken away with the organisation and running the meeting."
The meeting at the Eddie Wright Raceway starts at 3pm, with doors open from 1.30pm. It will also incorporate the Kenny Smith Memorial Trophy.

“Good luck David, cannot wait for this meeting to get underway, hope it is a nice day and no weather problems and there should be a very big crowd, you have entertained us brilliantly over the past few years, and my family is extra thankful in the support and friendship you gave my young grandson during the very sad later year of his life.
