SCUNTHORPE United's players face one of the toughest tests in the Championship when they come up against QPR tomorrow.

And, arguably, the same can be said for boss Alan Knill, who, in his first home game in charge, is set to pit his wits against experienced Rangers supremo Neil Warnock.

It is a battle against a man who, Knill believes, has deservedly led the Hoops to within touching distance of promotion to the Premier League.

"Neil Warnock has done an unbelievable job this season at QPR," acknowledged Knill.

"They are deservedly top of the table and look like they are going into the Premier League.

"I watched them beat Sheffield United on Monday night and they looked to have a strong squad.

"But QPR are a team full of players who have either played in the Premier League or who have the ability to play there.

"Adel Taarabt has been outstanding this season for them."

Ahead of the encounter, Knill is giving nothing away about his own starting line-up.

"I do have a team in my own mind that I want to play," was all the United boss would say.

But he admits to still learning about the players he has inherited, after completing his first week in charge.

"It will take us two weeks to get to know them," he confessed.
