Tractor on unmanned crossing near Worlaby hit by freight train
A freight train collided with a tractor on an unmanned crossing near Worlaby on the Scunthorpe to Barnetby railway line last night (Sunday Sept 9).
The incident happened at about 8.40pm and involved a freight train from Cottam Power Station which was bound for Immingham.
The diesel locomotive remained upright on the track.
The tractor driver was uninjured, but the train driver was taken to hospital by ambulance for a precautionary check-up.

Fire engines from Barton and Brigg were sent to the scene, which was also attended by police.
A British Transport Police spokesman said the Rail Accident Investigation Branch had been informed.
An 18-year-old man from Scunthorpe was arrested and released on police bail until September 17, pending further enquiries.
