Transfer Gossip: Celtic striker Gary Hooper unlikely to earn Scunthorpe United cash in January
GARY Hooper has reportedly told Celtic he will stay at Celtic for the remainder of the season - all but ending Scunthorpe United's hopes of a cash boost during January.
The Iron have a sell-on clause on the striker as part of the deal which took the prolific goalscorer to Scotland in the summer of 2010.

Gary Hooper has told Celtic he will stay in Scotland until the end of the season, report the Daily Record.
Hooper has consistently been linked with a switch to the Premier League since the transfer window reopened at the turn of the year, with Norwich City and Southampton reported to be suitors.
But the Daily Record say the 24-year-old is looking to move to a new agent at the end of the month and so won't force a move away from Celtic Park - despite his desire to earn an England call-up.

The Scottish newspaper adds that Norwich would be prepared to pay in excess of £5 million for Hooper this month but that figure would not be enough to persuade the Hoops to sell at this stage.
With a year left on his deal, English clubs would expect Celtic to settle for that fee in the close season, which would likely earn the Iron in excess of £500,000.
