Tributes to Billy Prescott (70) well-known Scunthorpe clubland steward
Retired Scunthorpe club steward and former professional footballer Billy Prescott has died at his home at the age of 70.
Father-of-three Billy was the steward at the town's Brumby and Frodingham WMC, with his wife Eunice, for 10 years from 1975.

Billy Prescott as many people will remember him
In 1987 the Prescotts took charge of the nearby Redbourn Social Club, on Cemetery Road, and stayed their for 12 years.
Prior to entering the licensed trade, Billy was a footballer on the books of Sheffield Wednesday, Hatfield Main, Winterton Rangers, Brigg Town and Brumby Hotel.

For more than 20 years he also served on the committee of the Scunthorpe Clubs' Stewards' Association, helping to raise thousands of pounds for worthy causes.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, December 28 at 11am at Woodlands Crematorium, Scunthorpe.
