UFO mystery goes national
AN EXCLUSIVE story involving two UFO sightings in North Lincolnshire, has today made the front page of the Sun newspaper.
Telegraph reporter Shemina Davis yesterday revealed there had been two independent sightings of unidentified flying objects in the skies over North Lincolnshire in the past week.
In addition to the Sun dedicating two pages to the story, Talk Sport and ITN have reported on it.
On the BBC's website, it is the most read story today, and it has been a hot topic on Radio Four's Today programme.
The story has also been taken up by Sky News, and has been discussed on ITV's Loose Women.
The unexplained sighting has been linked with an incident in Conisholme a day later which left a wind turbine severely damaged– reportedly by a UFO.
Locals reported being woken up at 4am on Sunday by strange lights were streaking towards the 290ft-tall generator.
A woman motorist claimed she saw the object zoom towards the wind farm and hit the windmill, tearing off a blade which has not been found.
Louth resident Dorothy Willows who lives just half a mile from the wind farm, was in her car when she saw 'strange lights' in the sky.
She was among dozens who spotted the mysterious flashing orangey-yellow spheres. She said: "The lights were moving across the sky towards the wind farm, then I saw a low flying object.
"It was skimming across the sky towards the turbines."
Hours later there was an almighty smash.
Dorothy said: "My husband Stephen was woken at 4am by the bang."
Afterwards one blade had been ripped off and had totally vanished, while another was left twisted and useless.
John Harrison, another witness, said he looked out of his landing window and saw a 'massive ball of light with tentacles going right down to the ground' over the wind farm.
He said: "It was huge. With the tentacles it looked just like an octopus."
The object which struck the turbine could not be explained by experts and there were no reports of any aircraft collisions that night.
Council health and safety officials said even the strongest gale was unlikely to be responsible and owners of the green power plant Ecotricity admitted: "We don't know what caused the problem. We are investigating."
Lesley Whittingham (71), from Alkborough, told the Telegraph she saw orange and yellow tints in the sky at about 1.30pm on Saturday. "It looked like a giant explosion in the sky and I was really surprised," she said.
Mrs Whittingham grabbed her camera and managed to picture the mystery object before it disappeared from sight.
Scunthorpe resident Carly Juggins (25), from Wragby Road, reported spotting a UFO opposite the Silica Lodge Garden Centre on Scotter Road last Thursday night.
"It went across the window, hovered a bit over my neighbours' house, and then disappeared," she said.
A bemused Miss Juggins added: "I don't particularly believe in aliens – but this was strange."
A Ministry of Defence spokesman said: "The MoD examines reports solely to establish whether UK airspace may have been compromised by a hostile or unauthorised military activity.
"Unless there is evidence of a potential threat, there is no attempt to identify the nature of each sighting reported."

“OK taxi for Stanley and Hawkins....a lot of reported sightings always seem to be near or in places that store or create energy or airports and army bases, i think they need energy, whether its the knowledge for alternative energy or the harness of it.....another factor is that sightings are always more common when the world appears to be in dire need of help from the puppets with power i am only speculating as you are as a cynic no one is right and no one is wrong....but i still say why shouldnt there be anything other than us, we have almost reached the supreme accolade of the numpties of the universe surely maybe they are paving the way to give us some direction maybe not.....who knows but the possiblilites are exciting..........open your mind!!!!! maybe mines open too much who knows.”

“Great to see a US citizen offering support. Valid point. A lady reported what she saw. The unusual sighting was reported though - the Sun lead on a story based in the North of England. An unusual sighting if ever I saw one, give or take a nipple!”

“I feel sorry for this older woman. She kindly reported what she saw and allowed herself to be photographed and identified.
And for what? To be made fun of? This is why most people, whether in the U.K. or North America, don't bother to report an unsual sighting. It's not worth it.”
