UPDATED: Snow returns to Scunthorpe - sleet and rain also expected

Snow began to fall in Scunthorpe at 10am today (Wednesday Feb 6) but only a light flurry.

Weather conditions in North Lincolnshire are set to remain cloudy with rain or sleet showers at low levels for most of today, although some snow will fall on land above 200m with slight or moderate accumulations possible.

Drivers are urged to take care on the roads as icy surfaces are possible in places.

Temperatures are due to stay at 5C during the daytime, with some brightness at times and feeling very cold in strong northerly winds.

Tonight wintry showers will continue near coasts. Inland areas will be mainly dry with clear spells.

A cold frosty night is expected with brisk northerly winds with temperatures at a minimum of -2 °C.
