Vaimoso proves four-midable
THE Greens put on an impressive display to beat Market Bosworth in convincing fashion at Heslam Park.
There was a late change in the line-up when No8 Dave Garbutt (unavailable) was replaced by Jake Devlin, from the Stags, in the back row.

Greens full-back Chris Neal scored two tries.
Scunthorpe started like a house on fire and in the first quarter they were scoring a point a minute.
It was Market Bosworth though who had the first scoring chance with a penalty, but fly-half Lewis Brightmore missed a simple attempt.
Then the Greens' backs broke loose, with full-back Chris Neal's electric pace seeing him surge down the touch-line to score in the corner, Mark Woollard kicking the conversion from out wide.
Then Rewiti Vaimoso scored the first of his four tries. He played scrum-half at a ruck and bulldozed his way over from 22 metres, with Woollard again converting.
With 14 minutes on the clock Scunthorpe were 14 points to nil ahead and looking in rampant form.
From the resulting kick-off skipper Tom Foster broke through the shell-shocked visitors' defence, with Neal in support to take the pass and claim his second score.
Scunthorpe took their eyes off the ball and allowed the Bosworth blind-side flanker Steve Morfill to cross for a soft try which Brightmore failed to convert.
But in the 22 minute Vaimoso scored his second try after good work from Dan McLean following a scrum.
Woollard was in imperious form with the boot, just like his England counterpart, Jonny Wilkinson, was to be later in the day. He slotted over the touch-line conversion with aplomb.
Then it appeared that the Greens had scored again with a fantastic move involving the talismanic Vaimoso, but it was disallowed by the referee for a forward pass.
The pack were in dominant mood, as were the backs, and all they had to do was keep their structure and a feast of points would surely evolve.
In the last score of the half, Woollard converted a simple penalty after the Bosworth front row popped up due the intense pressure applied by the Greens forwards.
With the hosts leading 29-5 at half-time, it looked as though they could really cash in and restore a healthy points difference over second-placed rivals Syston.
It only took four minutes for the old warhorse Micky Coult to claim a try from a trademark catch and drive line-out.
New Zealand debutant Kepa Paaka made an impressive start in the centre with some typical Kiwi tackling and strong running.
Then Scunthorpe went off the boil and only managed to score one try in the following 30 minutes.
It was new man Paaka who scored it after Scunthorpe pressure saw him receive the ball 10 metres out, before selling a dummy and strolling over for a try that Woollard converted.
Lewis Jones made a welcome return to first team rugby when he replaced Tom Turtle before the Greens began to lose the plot.
Although they had all the possession they seemed to take the wrong options at crucial times and several more scoring opportunities went begging.
Market Bosworth's replacement front row, Paul White, sustained a serious gash to the leg which meant that they had to go to uncontested scrums.
But tight-head prop Richard Tomlinson was having the game of his life as he carried ball after ball to the opposition and set up numerous opportunities.
However Scunthorpe gave away a penalty and from the ensuing line-out Bosworth centre Atkinson scored a try under the posts which was easily converted.
It looked as though Scunthorpe were going to end up with a mediocre win when, with just five minutes to go, they rescued some pride with two more well-taken tries.
Vaimoso claimed both of them, Woollard converting the first to take the points score to 53.
Vaimoso's fourth try was set up as a result of another run from prop Tomlinson.
So it was perhaps no surprise that the youngster received the Fallen Hero man of the match award for his sterling work.
