Caistor Cougars moved to within a point of Division One leaders Scunthorpe 4ths after beating 2011 champions Grimsby Town by 56 runs.

Liam Wood hit 61 and Alex McKitton 38 not out in their total of 152 for seven, then McKitton took three for 21 and Tim Brown three for 39 as the Cougars bowled Grimsby out for 96.

At the other end of the table, Broughton 3rds gained an important three points against Barton Acadamy Vikings, who were able to take to the field for the first time this season after weeks of inactivity due to the weather.

The Vikings were bowled out for 101 as Tom Brock picked up five for 20.

Shaun Clark then made 17 not out as Broughton squeezed to 102 for seven, taking them four points clear of Barton and Outcasts at the foot of the league ladder.

Hibaldstow remain four points clear at the top of Division Two following their comfortable 89-run win over Haxey.

Dale Coy (30) and Jim Bore (28) top scored in their total of 144 for nine, Oliver Tonks taking three for 23 and Danny Bullock three for 39 for Haxey, who were then shot out for 55, Luke Cowling picking up five for 22 for the league leaders.

Messingham moved into second place following their four-wicket win at Misterton.

The hosts made 138 for seven when batting first, skipper Darren Emmingham scoring 69 not out as Pete Baxter took three for 31.

Messingham had Danny Rands to thank for their victory as he made 72 not out.

That man Emmingham took three for 32 for the Nottinghamshire side, who still occupy bottom spot along with Cleethorpes 5ths whose scheduled home game with Barton will now be played on September 16.

There was just one game in Division Three and it saw Everton climb above Normanby Park to claim second place behind leaders Luddington after they beat them by 68 runs.

Steve Johnson hit 79 not out in Everton's total of 202 for six, Declan Dunning taking three for 38.

Normanby were then bowled out for 134, Benson taking five for 23 for the home side.

BROUGHTON 3RDS v BARTON ACADAMY VIKINGS: Vikings 101 all out (T Brock five for 20); Broughton 102 for seven (S Clark 17no). Broughton win by three wickets.

CAISTOR COUGARS v GRIMSBY TOWN 3RDS: Cougars 152 for seven (L Wood 61, A McKitton 38no); Grimsby 96 all out (A McKitton three for 21, T Brown three for 39). Caistor win by 56 runs.

DIVISION TWO

CLEETHORPES 5THS v BARTON TOWN 4THS: Now playing September 16.

HAXEY 3RDS v HIBALDSTOW 2NDS: Hibaldstow 144 for nine (D Coy 30, J Bore 28, O Tonks three for 23, D Bullock three for 25); Haxey 55 all out (L Cowling five for 22). Hibaldstow win by 89 runs.

MISTERTON 2NDS v MESSINGHAM 3RDS: Misterton 138 for seven (D Emmingham 69no, P Baxter three for 31); Messingham 141 for six (D Rands 72no, D Emmingham three for 32). Messingham win by four wickets.

EVERTON 3RDS v NORMANBY PARK: Everton 202 for six (S Johnson 79no, D Dunning three for 38); Normanby 134 all out (J Benson five for 23). Everton win by 68 runs.
