Visit to Scunthorpe McDonald's gives Brigg and Goole MP food for thought about days as firm
Brigg and Goole MP Andrew Percy was reminded of the years he spent working at McDonald's when he paid a visit to a Scunthorpe outlet of the fast food giant.
He met Scunthorpe franchisee Bob Meadowcroft and members of his team to discuss what it's like to work for the firm and to find out how the business operates locally.
The two men talked about the opportunities for career development that McDonald's offers, which includes gaining nationally-recognised accredited qualifications.
The MP later revealed that 15 employees at the Scunthorpe restaurant are currently studying on the McDonald's Apprenticeship programme, and the restaurant has already seen six crew members complete apprenticeship training in the past two years.

In keeping with the company's I'm Loving It slogan, he revealed: "I worked at McDonald's from 16 through to leaving university and found they were a great company to work for. I'm pleased to have been able to return to see how things have changed."

“I doubt if Mc Donalds would take Mr Percy back to work there, with his nasty patronising manner he would put the customers off eating there.”

“Mr. Percy should have stuck with McDonalds.
He was probably far better at that than he is as an MP.
He could have been just as self serving there as well.”

“If i was him instead of feeding my fat face on burgers i'd ask for a job application form because when we all take to the polls next time he may end up working back there so i suppose i can't blame him for wanting to keep his hand in.”
