Winterton Community Academy is closed today (January 21) due to the weather

Following recent poor weather the school says it has had to close until further notice and apologise for any inconvenience this snow closure may cause.

The school has said: "The main reason for closure was following advice from the bus companies who were very concerned about the forecast for further snow due today (Monday) and the disruption this would cause to the road network later in the day."

They have spoken to the exam board about a Geography exam scheduled today.

There will be no penalty for not sitting the exam  asmany schools are in the same situation and students will be able to sit the exam in June.

The school added: "I am sure you understand that it is not possible to just sit the exam when the school reopens as some schools will have already taken the exam and this would compromise the security of the exam paper."
