Neighbourhood Sgt Howard Garlick said: " Incidents such as this, in Brigg, are reasonably rare, however there are people who are opportunist thieves and will steal anything they can get their hands on.
"It is for this reason I want to remind people about the importance of not leaving valuables in your vehicle unattended. It only takes a matter of seconds to steal something, which can cause great distress to a victim.
"So please, be vigilant when you find yourself in a circumstance such as this.
"The woman was with her vehicle when the theft happened, and it did not deter the offender. Keep valuable items with you until you get in the vehicle and drive away. Don't make yourself a target."
Anyone who may have information in connection with the theft in Tesco car park is asked to call Humberside Police tel 101 quoting crime reference 1961516.
