Woman assaulted in Scunthorpe after intervening in fight
A 43-YEAR-OLD woman was assaulted in Scunthorpe while trying to intervene in a fight.
The assault occurred when a woman, who was sat on a bench eating a takeaway at Britannia Corner, Frodingham Road in the early hours of Sunday morning, noticed a woman who was known to her in what police have described as a ‘physical altercation’ with another woman.

The 43-year-old attempted to intervene but was allegedly assaulted by the woman she knew.
Police have since arrested a 21-year-old woman in connection with the incident.

She has been released on bail pending further inquries.
Officers believe there may have been a number of witnesses to the incident and are urging anyone who witnessed the assault, which occurred between the hours of 4am and 5am, to call 101 quoting crime reference 1934467.
